My name is Brian Burson. I am the Children's Ministry Pastor at Wildwood Calvary Chapel. After serving in ministry in Oregon for several years, my family and I returned back to Southern California to assist in the ministry at Wildwood Calvary Chapel. We are incredibly excited about the things the Lord is doing in this church and ministry! I have a heart for seeing kids raised up in a true understanding of the Lord, His Word, and the plan He has for their lives. One of my favorite verses is Ephesians 2:10, which says, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." We continually look forward to the opportunities that we are given, in the children's ministry at Wildwood, to partner with parents in encouraging their kids in their walk with the Lord!
My name is Veronica Roberts. I have been attending Wildwood Calvary Chapel since 2001 and have been serving in Children's Ministry in some capacity for 7 years. This past year God blessed me with a position here on staff as a coordinator for our midweek service. I stand in awe of God for giving me the opportunity to serve Him in this way. For it is Christ in me and He alone that qualifies me for service. There are so many blessings that come from serving in Children's Ministry. Not only do I have the privilege of seeing the kids grow in their understanding of Christ and His love for them, experience their excitement and hunger for His word, but also see the blessings that comes from supporting the parents who faithfully bring their kids each week. My favorite verse, if I must choose just one is Psalm 40:2 "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand."
My name is Lisa Larson, I have been attending Wildwood for nearly 6 years now, and have been serving the Lord in the Children's ministry for about a year and a half. I am in awe, as I see God's great works in my life. I have been so blessed to witness the Salvation of members of my family, friends, and co-workers as they come to know Jesus Christ. Here in the Children's Ministry, I have also witnessed something extraordinary, the clarity of these beautiful little minds and hearts as they reach out for more JESUS! Some days I am brought to tears by the utter beauty of it! It is tough for me to single out a favorite scripture, as my life is peppered with verses that have spoken mountains to me; some as I was first saved and questioning my worth as I reflected on my past, some as I was searching for answers, some as I just read the Word, and the Lord spoke ever so loudly and clearly to me, and yet there are some that I had read months and even years over that spoke to me so differently than before. If I must single out a favorite, then Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes...". I am so Blessed to be a part of this body, His body, as I see it grow week after week!
My name is Heather Hill and I have been attending Wildwood since January of this year. I have a heart for small children and feel that the best way I can serve the Lord is by serving the children at Wildwood. I serve as the supervisor for the first, second, and third graders and, not suprisingly, have learned a great deal about God's will and abounding mercy and love along with the children. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'" This is such an amazing verse to tell children as they begin their walk with God.
My name is Katrina Wilmoth. My family and I began attending Wildwood Calvary Chapel in 2002. My first favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (NIV) It has been a blessing to watch God's plan unfold in the Children's ministry at Wildwood. My heart is to follow His leading in providing a safe, developmentally appropriate environment where students can grow in God's love and share it with others.
Hello, my name is Mayra Garcia. I have been attending Wildwood Calvary Chapel since spring of 2004 when both my husband and I were saved during Easter Service at the park. The Children's Ministry has blessed my family since our first day at Wildwood. It was very evident to us that the servants loved Jesus and loved children. It was this love that has drawn me to serve in the children ministry for the past 3 years. I'm currently blessed and privileged to serve as the 2nd service nursery supervisor as well as serving with the 2 and 3 year olds on Tuesday night. I love seeing the children smile as they worship the lord, and learn about Jesus. I'm also blessed and encouraged by the faithful servants that share their love of Jesus with them. It is amazing to be a part of! My favorite verse is Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
My name is Rosemary Mackey and I have attended Wildwood Calvary Chapel for 3 years, but started serving in children's ministry 9 years ago when the Lord found me. Our Heavenly Father has taught me in children's ministry as I too was a new child in Christ; a new believer. Our Father God taught me through the children and the Word taught to the children. Once I received Christ Jesus I kept saying, "I feel like I'm awake" Then at a women's retreat God spoke to me through Ephesians 5:14 "for it is light that makes everything visible." This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.: Now this is my favorite verse because this was the first time I heard the Lord clearly.
My name is Tracy Burson. I have had the joy of serving alongside my husband, Brian, in many different areas of children's ministry for several years now. We have recently just begun serving at WCC since our return to Southern California in 2007. I have been serving in Children's Registration for most of that time and it has truly been a blessing in my life!! My favorite verse is Prov 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." My prayer is that the Lord will continue to direct my path and use me to serve others in whatever area of ministry that He wills. To God be the Glory!!
My name is Kris Scarborough. I have been attending Wildwood for about 10 years. I have served in a couple of different areas in Children's ministry. In 2001 I served in the 3 yr. olds as a teacher. I have also served in the women's ministry in some of our studies. I now am the registration supervisor during the 3rd service. I know how hectic it can be to bring little one's to church and strive for a stress free transition. It is amazing to me to see the growth we are experiencing and love to see God work in us and the growing of our body of believers. My favorite verse is Philippians 4:13 "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." I love this verse as it speaks a clear message of how when we try to do things on our own we fail, it's only through Christ that we receive the endurance to carry on.
My Name is Christy Neades. I started attending Calvary Chapel Palm Springs in the 90's. I am very happy that the Lord has led me here to Wildwood. I am very excited to be involved with Children's Ministry. To watch the children grow with and learn about Jesus is such an amazing gift from God. I am so blessed to work with such a wonderful groups of servants. One of my favorite Scriptures is Mark 10:45 "For even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (NIV)
Hello, my name is Claudia Drazin. I have been attending Wildwood Calvary Chapel for five years. I have been a worship leader for 30 years for all ages young and old. These past five years I have teamed up with my husband, Peter, to serve in the 426 youth ministry. He teaches and I lead worship. We have been blessed with the opportunity to serve every Sunday morning and Tuesday night plus monthly outreaches geared for the 426 youth. God confirmed in my heart His calling on my life as a worship leader when He gave me this verse; John 4:23-24, "But the hour comes and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth." I am truly blessed every week when I am joined in singing with these children. I know God is honored and blessed to hear the voices and hearts of these young ones when they worship Him. I thank God for His faithfulness in this ministry He gave me to serve Him and others.
Hi, my name is Dawn Austin and I serve as the Preschool supervisor for the 9:15 service. I have been attending Wildwood for the past 10 years, with some intermittent absences when I was living out of state. The Lord has blessed me abundantly and I want to be a blessing to others by being in His service. I started out just recently as a teacher for the four year olds, and shortly after was asked to be a supervisor for the preschool. I am so grateful that the Lord has chosen to use me in this way and am in awe at the work he is continually doing in me. It is my goal to show the love of Christ to others, not just in this ministry, but in all areas of my life. I feel greatly honored to be a servant in the Children's ministry at Wildwood. There are many verses that I cling to, but one that is speaking to my now is Jeremiah 31:3 "...I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness."
Hi I am Sarah Ross. I help in the Children's ministry at Calvary Chapel Wildwood. The Lord has blessed me by allowing me to serve in the Preschool department. When I was young I learned in Sunday School that Jesus loved me and that He wanted me to love others. One of my favorite scriptures is Matthew 18:3&3 "Then He said, "I assure you, unless you turn from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven."
