A Christian in Old Bridge wrote a letter to California, asking for a Calvary Chapel-style fellowship to be started in Central New Jersey.
God put it on Lloyd Pulley’s heart to respond to that letter, in person. Lloyd, along with his wife Karen and their two children, moved across country in complete obedience to God. Lloyd and Karen Pulley held a small Bible study on Thursday nights before the group grew to meet each Sunday morning.
By the end of 1984, the fellowship had grown to fifty people and moved to an elementary school gymnasium. By 1986, 150 people moved into the Carl Sandburg School auditorium, and by 1992, the church grew to 700 adults and approximately 300 children requiring multiple services.
Now ministering to the needs of an ever-growing congregation of over 3,000 people, and reaching over 7 million potential listeners through The Bridge Christian Radio in New York and New Jersey, we thank the Lord for faithfully providing us an opportunity to minister to His people!
What is Bridgefest?
A Brief History:
THE BRIDGE RADIO STATION BEGINS
Pastor Lloyd Pulley prayed for God to open the door for a station dedicated to sound Bible teaching. Pastor Lloyd’s radio program, Bridging the Gap, had been on another prominent NY Christian talk radio station since the early 1990s, therefore he understood the tremendous impact radio could have.
THE BRIDGE RADIO | LAUNCH DAY
June 27, 2003
Since the station’s coverage has expanded all the way to New York City and thousands of online listeners countrywide.
2005 - TODAY
The Lord put it on the heart of The Bridge staff to host a beach festival in Ocean Grove, NJ designed to draw people closer to the Lord through teaching and worship music.
JUNE 2005 |
The Bridge hosted YESS Festival with Audio Adrenaline and Falling Up as the featured bands with Pastor Pancho Juarez delivering a Gospel-centered message at the end of the night. YESS Festival made a tremendous impact in the hearts and minds of many prompting The Bridge to continued hosting the annual festival for over 17 years with one small change; the festival was renamed Bridgefest. Bridgefest has seen many tremendous moments over the years, from rededications to first time commitments to the Lord. Bridgefest continues to be the largest Christian Festival in all of New Jersey.
